InnovMetric Software Inc., developer of the PolyWorks® Universal 3D Metrology Software Platform for Manufacturing, announces that it has just signed a technology sponsorship agreement with the GT1-champion Corvette Racing Team, the leading GT1 team in the American Le Mans Series with nine wins in nine ALMS races so far in 2007.

Corvette Racing, which is run by Pratt & Miller on behalf of General Motors, has signed a sponsorship agreement with InnovMetric Software for the use of the PolyWorks software suite for the reverse engineering of car components into CAD software. PolyWorks, the standard point cloud engineering solution in the automotive industry worldwide, will enable Pratt & Miller to digitize any parts of its race cars and use them for applications such as design, simulation, virtual assembly, rapid prototyping, and inspection. This advanced technology will allow the company's engineers to design and integrate high-performance parts faster and more reliably than ever.

It’s great having PolyWorks onboard to help us further technological growth in our automotive and engineering endeavors,” said Gary Pratt, Vice President of Pratt & Miller. “This is a great partnership and we look forward to utilizing PolyWorks’ efficiency and reliability in our various applications.”

Pratt & Miller has evolved from a small auto design/production company into a highly successful engineering and turn-key racing operation. Achievements to date include multiple wins and championship titles at the most prestigious production-based racing events in America and Europe. In 2001, Pratt & Miller's Corvette Racing program earned major international success with an outright victory in the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, followed by a 1-2 finish in the GTS class of the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans. Since then, Corvette Racing has typically won nine of 10 ALMS races every year, except in 2004 when they won all races.

We are very excited to collaborate with the Corvette Racing team to continue its domination of the American Le Mans Series,” InnovMetric’s President Marc Soucy said. “For many years, InnovMetric has worked closely with General Motors to develop point cloud engineering tools to meet the manufacturing challenges of everyday cars. We are proud to see that this PolyWorks expertise will now help the best GT1 team to pursue its winning legacy.
