Entente de coopération dans le domaine de l'inspection 3D visant l'intégration de DPAInspect au logiciel PolyWorks
La compagnie allemande AICON 3D Systems, fabricant du système de mesure DPAInspect, et InnovMetric Logiciels sont fiers d’annoncer la mise sur pied d’une entente de collaboration dans le domaine de l’inspection 3D. Étant donné leur position respective sur le marché de l'automobile et de l'aéronautique, AICON 3D Systems et InnovMetric Logiciels ont décidé de créer un module d’extension (plug-in) afin d’intégrer le système de mesure DPAInspect à l’intérieur de l’interface du logiciel PolyWorks. Cette intégration permettra aux deux entreprises de développer davantage le marché de l'inspection 3D au sein de ces secteurs stratégiques.

Braunschweig/Québec, August 21, 2006, The German company AICON 3D Systems and the Canadian manufacturer of PolyWorks/Inspector™, InnovMetric Software Inc, are pleased to announce the start-up of a close cooperation in the inspection area.
With DPAInspect, AICON has recently launched a powerful photogrammetric measurement system for the inspection of arbitrary components which can easily be linked to PolyWorks/Inspector™ as analysis tool for easy Part-to-CAD Comparisons. Werner Bösemann, President of AICON, explains: “Users prefer to stay with their usual, proven and tested software. Our main customers come from the automotive and aeronautic industries, where PolyWorks is the number one chosen analysis software solution. So it was an evident need to create a plug-in. Also with respect to product philosophy, DPAInspect and PolyWorks make a good couple: We both focus on accuracy, robustness of the system and easy usage.”
DPAInspect works with a high resolution digital camera as acquisition device. With this camera, the object to be measured is captured from different viewing directions. The free-held camera offers an unsurpassed flexibility which especially pays-off in a narrow environment or hazardous areas. As the inspection can be conducted onsite, no more time-consuming transport to a CMM is necessary. With respect to its price, the system can be compared to an articulated arm. Yet in terms of volume and accuracies, it competes with laser trackers.
The 3D coordinates being created in the digitising phase are instantly transferred into PolyWorks’ alignment module. Once a complete model of the digitised object is created, the data is compared to the CAD nominal data for in-depth inspection analyses. Inspection results can then be viewed with the PolyWorks Free Viewer or the EZLayout report tool.
